Our Supporters

We receive 100% of our operating budget from private individuals and foundations who value our direct approach, transparent operating model and long-term track record in helping children in need. We are enormously grateful to the many donors, volunteers and supporters who have given in various ways to make possible the work of The Kusasa Project. Because you care, the lives of incredible children, their families and their communities benefit.

Teachers change lives: Our biggest need is and always will be for good teachers. Paying the salary of a good educator for a year ensures that every child that comes into contact with that teacher benefits from his/her experience, expertise and care. We seek to recruit and retain the best, most energetic and caring teachers possible.

Each member of our team has been recruited for their skills, fit with their teammates and belief in our mission, sacrificing careers in more established schools (private and government) or commercial businesses, for the chance to put their talents to use changing lives of poor children.

Our Partners

Hope Through Action

The Hope Through Action Foundation brings life changing programmes and facilities to the young people of South Africa. Together with SCORE, they use sport as a vehicle to provide a foundation for positive development through early intervention. Through donations raised by the incredibly generous Philip Green, The Hope Through Action Foundation built the Franschhoek Community Sports Centre in Groendal. The facilities, opened in 2015, comprise a multi-purpose indoor pitch, training rooms, a resource centre and the Early Learning Centre, which is operated by The Kusasa Project.

The Click Foundation

Deploys online self-paced English and numeracy literacy programmes in underprivileged primary schools across South Africa. We are honoured to be one of their beneficiaries.

Uncorked Music Academy

We are thrilled to work with the Uncorked Music Academy musicians. They offer music lessons and engaging music-based classes with The Kusasa Academy learners.

Keller Education

Keller is a collaboration of education leaders committed to improving the school experience for modern children while specifically focusing on the quality of teaching and thinking in schools.

Le Bon Vivant Restaurant

Awarded 1st place in ‘Best Fining Dining – Africa 2020’ and in the top 1% of restaurants worldwide, we are proud that Pierre Hendriks and his team have become a partner of The Kusasa Project by adding a donation to every restaurant meal bill.

French Connection Bistro

We are delighted that the team led by multi award-winning chef Matthew Gordon has become a partner by giving guests the opportunity to donate to The Kusasa Project along with their meal payments.
