Staff Wellness
Last month, we posted a blog about our new fitness guru, Divan Jelander, joining the Kusasa team as Sports and Recreation Coordinator. Divan also offers fitness routines for our staff twice a week. The Kusasa Project views staff wellness as a crucial element for happy, committed, and invested staff.
Our teachers and staff have been lifting weights and squatting their Tuesday and Thursday afternoons away. Besides some sore muscles, we are happy to report that they have been having a blast!
It’s Bok Friday!
We back our Boy’tjies in green and gold (and more recently, turquoise) in the Rugby World Cup! Teachers, other staff, and the Kusasa kids are encouraged to wear their Springbok attire or something green and yellow every Friday.
You got this, Springboks!
Welcome Dr. Arendse
We were so happy to welcome Dr. Gillian Arendse to The Kusasa Project yesterday. Dr. Arendse is Deputy Director of Stellenbosch University, a brilliant academic and speaker.
He visited us to address and inspire our teachers but hung around to sing and play with the Kusasa-kids.
What a positive energy to have around!
A happy flowery Spring Day
What a lovely first day of Spring for The Kusasa Project! We celebrated the start of a new season with a Mother Daughter Day at the lovely Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate. The Grade 3s and 4s treated their mums to a tea party: Blossom and Tea – Mother and Daughter Tea! We were also lucky enough to have the head girl of La Rochelle Girls’ High School, Johré Blommetjies, addressing and inspiring our girls.
TGIAS – Thank goodness it’s almost summer!
International Bow Tie Day!
We celebrated International Bow Tie Day! As much as The Kusasa Project prioritises academic, physical and emotional growth, we see so much value in keeping a playful spirit at the academy.
Sometimes, all a child needs is to be allowed to be a silly, goofy child. We had a great day and our Grade 0’s wanted to wear them every day.
